Dr. Shastri grew up in Buffalo, NY. After graduating Summa Cum Laude from Boston College in 2002, where she studied psychology and chemistry, she attended medical school at the State University of New York at Buffalo. She then completed her internship in Internal Medicine at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center and her residency in Adult Neurology at Tufts Medical Center. She pursued a fellowship in Movement Disorders at Mount Sinai Beth Israel in NYC. After completing her training, Dr. Shastri worked on staff at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center (2011-2017) and then Mount Auburn Hospital (2017-2021). She is board certified in Neurology (2010) and is passionate about treating various neurologic illnesses, including headache, neuropathy, dementia, and stroke. Her special interests include the treatment of Parkinson’s Disease and Tremors. Dr. Shastri values the team approach in patient care and strives to formulate a treatment plan that works for the patient, their family, and their care team. She lives in Cambridge with her fiancé and puppy and enjoys hiking, yoga, and spending time with her family.
