After working at the New England Conservatory Preparatory School and playing violin in the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra for 5 years, she changed career paths and began medical school at the Tufts University School of Medicine in 2000. She completed her Neurology Residency at Tufts Medical Center (2008) and a Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship at the UMass Chan Medical School (2009). She is triple board certified in Neurology, Clinical Neurophysiology, and Sleep Medicine. Dr. Louie enjoys helping patients with a variety of neurologic and sleep issues, including migraines, Parkinson’s Disease, dementia, and sleep apnea. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, reading, and spending time with family.

Bethany is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Bethany started her career as an NP in San Diego, CA as a Primary Care Provider for underserved and Hispanic populations. She then transitioned into General Neurology and Headache medicine where she worked for 3+ years before joining our practice. Bethany see’s all general neurologic disorders and has a special interest in headaches. She is passionate about working with her patients to formulate an individualized plan. In her free time, Bethany enjoys hiking, traveling, baking and going on beach walks with her husband and dog.

After graduating Summa Cum Laude from Boston College in 2002, where she studied psychology and chemistry, she attended medical school at the State University of New York at Buffalo. She then completed her internship in Internal Medicine at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center and her residency in Adult Neurology at Tufts Medical Center. She pursued a fellowship in Movement Disorders at Mount Sinai Beth Israel in NYC. After completing her training, Dr. Shastri worked on staff at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center (2011-2017) and then Mount Auburn Hospital (2017-2021). She is board certified in Neurology (2010) and is passionate about treating various neurologic illnesses, including headache, neuropathy, dementia, and stroke. Her special interests include the treatment of Parkinson’s Disease and Tremors. Dr. Shastri values the team approach in patient care and strives to formulate a treatment plan that works for the patient, their family, and their care team. She lives in Cambridge with her fiancé and puppy and enjoys hiking, yoga, and spending time with her family.

Melissa grew up in Melrose, Massachusetts. In 2003 she earned her Masters in Nursing at the University of California in San Francisco. Melissa is board certified in gerontological nursing. She returned to Boston University Medical Center, Department of Neurology where she worked for almost 9 years in the Movement Disorders Clinic treating patients with Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease and tremor. While there she also coordinated clinical research trials. She has facilitated monthly support groups for patients with Parkinson’s disease and atypical Parkinsonian syndromes since 2004 and has been a board member for the Mass Chapter of the APDA since 2006. Outside of work Melissa enjoys reading, traveling and watching BU hockey games. Melissa is the recipient of the 2020 American Parkinson’s Disease Association Shawn Thornton Award for Excellence! This award acknowledges individuals who go above and beyond in caring and advocating for patients and families with Parkinson’s disease. Melissa has worked hard and shown great dedication over the years in her work with the American Parkinson’s Disease Association. She has greatly impacted the Parkinson’s community.

]]> Dr. Tramontozzi grew up in Saugus, Massachusetts. In 2002 he obtained his undergraduate degree in Psychology and Neuroscience at Duke University in North Carolina. Before matriculating to medical school he traveled abroad on a Fulbright scholarship to Jeju, South Korea where he taught English at a local middle school. Returning to the states in 2003, he pursued his medical degree at Tufts University School of Medicine and graduated in 2007. He spent his internship year in Internal Medicine at Lahey Clinic. He then completed his residency training in neurology at the Tufts program, which was split between Tufts Medical Center, St.Elizabeth’s Medical Center, and Lahey Clinic. In his fifth and last year of training he completed a fellowship in Clinical Neuromuscular Medicine and Electromyography at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Tramontozzi is board certified in Neurology (2011) and Neuromuscular Medicine (2012). His clinical interests center on nerve and muscle diseases but run the full gamut of neurological illnesses including movement disorders, headache, multiple sclerosis, stroke and epilepsy. Practicing a patient centered approach to diagnosing and treating neurologic diseases, Dr. Tramontozzi enjoys the privilege of seeing patients in their own community, which enables him to understand their values and incorporate them into his treatment plan. He was recently named a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology (FAAN) and appointed Director of Medical Education for Beth Israel Lahey Health Beverly and Addison Gilbert Hospitals. Dr. Tramontozzi lives in the North Shore area with his wife, a practicing family medicine physician, and two children Sophia and Louis. His interests outside of work include spending time with his young family, cooking, and tennis.
